What do you think of a Dreamcast 2?
Ok so I havent bought a Next Gen Console since. Their a lot of fun games on the DC and Im just a Sega Fan point blank. Sega initial plan was brilliant and its Launch was sucessfull but not enough things went right and too much PS2 hype kill the DC chances. Yes I understand this isnt the same Sega from ten years ago. Much as I love this idea I dont think Sega could make it work. Too many Consoles vying for position. Sega couldnt generate enough 3rd party support to sustain. Plus this new generation doesnt know the Sega we know so Sega Fan base is basically in their 30’s as myself and face we just dont play games once we get to that age. Sega also would have to have a few hits to raise the Capital for an endeavor such as this. Shame no one wanted to buy the Dreamcast and Sega had to go that way.

I had the dreamcast! I remember my brother gave it to me after her got a ps2. We went to gamestop to get a game and when I asked one of the guys working there if they had any dreamcast games EVERYONE who heard me started laughing at me My brother told me that would happen but I thought he was being a jerk. I have a 360 now and even though I really liked the dreamcast I cant imagine getting one after all these years. I only played sonic adventure 2 and I would love to play it again to reminisce.

Like you said, Sega isn’t the same it was 10 years ago. If they tried to make a system today, it would most likely be unsucsessful because the only one of their first party game(Sonic) nowadays has the capability to sell in the millions and a lot of their more recent games aren’t as good as they used to be.

On top of that, getting third parties to publish games on it would be a huge obstacle to overcome since they lost a lot of their support and trust during the days they made consoles.

And the fact of the matter is, that they just aren’t very good at making successful consoles. While I do like some of their systems and own a Dreamcast myself, their only real success was the Genesis, and most of it’s success was due to Sonic, luck and good commercials.

early plans for halloween costume….. plz help even tho its WAY to early?

well you can buy AND make something with recycled things (used plastic soda pop bottle, milk jugs, anything that is unused, perhaps strings)

my ideas is get a string and paint it blood color, then get a small ball (almost the size of the eye) and stick the string to the ball and paint the ball like a realistic eye you can do anything from tape the end of the string to your eyelids to make it look like your eye came out,

make a realistic blood and splatter over yourself (or bathe in it to make yourself look like a Bloody Mary)

or perhaps go to ghost pirate (not your style but read anyway) and get a parrot in the costume store and make it look dead (add wounds, blood, skeleton) and do the same to your self and there you go, ghost/zombie pirate

How to repair old oak wood floors DIY? Without sanding?
Just got a house with oak wood floor boards under old carpet. Have been under the carpet for about 40 years. The previous owner told me I could just wax/buff the floors to look good. Someone else told me I should screen them. I do not want to sand them and accidentally ruin them. ANy suggestions?

Sanding won’t ruin them. Sanding them and refinishing them is the best way to get the optimum finish. If t hat’s what you want. If the wood is in excellent condition then you can probably clean it and wax/buff it, but my guess is it’s not, being 40ys old

If the wood is not worn, stained or scratched sometimes just washing it down with mineral spirits (which you can get at a hardware store) can really transform them. I did that to the hardwood in my first house after pulling up the carpet and they looked like new. I simply coated them with a mix of varnish and boiled linseed oil afterwards (I don’t care for plolyurethane). Won’t hurt to try that first — cheap and easy. If they still look funky you could try the screening next (which just gently sands the top layer and takes off old varnish and mild roughness).

I would not sand unless it was a last resort and they were really damaged or discolored. Each time you sand you make the floors thinner and shorten their functional life. Plus it is horribly messy and expensive.

I love wooden floors they are so natural looking. Also, I’m all for an easy life.
Oak is a very hard wood and needs to be nourished.
First I would get some fine grain steel wool and rub every inch of the floor with the steel wool dipped in white spirit. Leave to dry out over night.
Next get some linseed oil and apply with a small paint brush. Paint in as much oil as the wood will absorb. Keep all pets out of the way despite their screams of anguish.
Now the nice bit – use natural Briwax polish, again with a paint brush but don’t buff up.
I usually apply the Briwax every four weeks – if I remember – then for daily maintenance I use Lord Sheraton spray polish to wipe up after the pets.
This system really does work.

Any of the answers might be right depending on what you have to work with.
Really hard to say sight unseen.
if it is old flooring , it would cost a fortune to replace w/ same quality material if you can find it at all.
If it were my place & it is vintage flooring , I would first try cleaning ,buffing & polishing.
Hardwood floors were often waxed regularly & the residue even if it looks ratty can protect the flooring & make cleanup possible.
If cleaning does not work , you will have caused no damage & can still sand & refinish if you want to.
In any event have seen old hardwood floors brought back to life ( ( by professionals) using old fashioned buffing machines to clean & polish.
Advice? find a bonded insured pro to estimate the job for a cleaning / buffing faceliuft or a whole hog refinishing..

I would be really careful about sanding them, although if you’re only taking a few mm of the top then it shouldn’t be a problem. It’s difficult to repair without sanding as you could fill but then it takes a lot to get the filler the correct colour – it never looks as good as sanding and then re-staining!

Am I in the friend zone, or am I not?
Okay here’s my situation. There’s this girl that I like, and I talk to her nearly everyday. But I’m not quite sure if she likes me back or not. ehh.. it’s hard to tell. She is giving you mixed signals. The only red flag I see is her calling you buddy. However that is a fairly big flag. If all else fails just ask.
